# ROMulus

> Search for retro game ROMs across multiple sites from one place.

ROMulus is a ROM search engine that aggregates results from Vimm's Lair, ROMsGames, and CDRomance. Search by game title and optionally filter by console to find download pages for retro games.

## API

ROMulus exposes a public REST API that AI agents can call directly.

### Search ROMs

GET https://romulus.rocks/api/search?q={query}&system={system}

- `q` (required): game title to search for
- `system` (optional): console slug — `nes`, `snes`, `n64`, `gamecube`, `wii`, `gb`, `gbc`, `gba`, `ds`, `3ds`, `ps1`, `ps2`, `ps3`, `psp`, `genesis`, `dreamcast`, `saturn`, `tg16`, `xbox`, or `all`

Returns JSON: `{ "results": [{ "game_name", "system", "site", "url", "cover_image" }] }`

## MCP Server

ROMulus exposes a hosted MCP server for direct integration with Claude and other MCP-compatible agents.

Endpoint: https://romulus.rocks/mcp/ (Streamable HTTP, POST)

Tools exposed:
- `search_roms(query, system)` — search for ROMs, returns results with URLs and cover images
- `get_game_details(url)` — fetch full metadata for a game page (year, region, genre, languages, rating, size)
- `list_systems()` — list all supported consoles
